based off her concept found in this teaser:
Key fashion points:
classy, elegant gowns and cocktail dresses, black, white and silver (there's not much to discern from the first teaser)
I always get excited whenever a K-pop girl group comes with a new image that isn't the ubiquitous, cutesy girly girl concept. It's a look the Asian market has always fawned over, and that's what makes it a sure-fire marketing success every time. I was severely disappointed when After School, who established themselves as a sexy, fierce kind of group tipped off to be the Asian version of the Pussycat Dolls, in "Playgirlz", then came out with something like "Wonder Boy". Similarly, I was once again feeling cheated when Secret went from "Madonna" to "Shy Boy", which I personally think is degrading themselves when they have to tone down their vocal capabilities and resort to a lot of bopping up and down when they could do so much more original things with their dancing.
Sunny from SNSD is actually probably the epitome of this "aegyo" or cutesy craze and everything I despite about it lol. However as I watched the teaser for "The Boys" I couldn't help but be blown away by this new aura of maturity, class and a bit of spunk with that silvery blonde short hair, she exuded in a way I had never seen before. This is exactly what I'd like to see more of in the K-pop industry.
PS: I sincerely apologise for the lack of outfit posts! I'll be receiving a batch of photos from a shoot I did on the weekend from my boyfriend soon enough, so stay tuned! <3
