march into the light

I feel like I haven't worn leggings out in a while! These days it's all about shorts and dresses leading to a nice, subtle tan on my legs (which is probably still nothing compared to the girls born much less pale lol). The only times I wear long pants out, are to go do my grocery shopping and Subway-grabbing in either the early morning or late at night, so the temperature's cooled a bit during those hours. However our first month of summer seems to have taken an unexpected turn and Sydneysiders are now sitting through the coldest summer in 51 years. I'm not going to complain though, the extension of cold weather means I can keep savouring those last moments of grabbing hot chocolate, wearing warm knits and snuggling up in bed watching endless episodes of Psych as I have been doing lately lol.

Anyhoo, I finally got to wear out this cropped military denim jacket I got from Jeanswest about a year ago! It's just one of those things that aren't really warm enough but aren't light enough either for any sort of day. It's actually pretty heavy because of the denim material, but as you can see it's cropped at the waist, cropped at the sleeves as well, and doesn't button up. Nonetheless it's still one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe.

Military jacket: Jeanswest
Chiffon top: Zipia
Leggings: Sportsgirl (best leggings here, just the right amount of thickness)
Heels: Marco Gianni

Spike necklace: Lovisa
Black wrap bracelet: Zipia
Rings: House of Harlow, Colette Accessories

  6. @ the love hanger:

thankyou! I don't usually buy expensive jewellery either but imo House of Harlow is totally worth it. The designs are simply one of a kind and the knockoffs just don't compare. HOH is the only jewellery brand (besides Disney Couture) I wouldn't let anyone else stop me from splurging on! xD

  7. @ xPockiex:

    thankyou! :D
yes from what I remember seeing on the camera screen, the colours were like that because the sun was behind me, and we were capturing what was probably the last 15 minutes of it going down before it was gone. My boyfriend edits them a little on Lightroom afterwards, and probably enhanced the colours just a bit.

  8. I don't know how to reply to your comment so you will be notified of it, so I thought I would just post it here so I know you will read it! :)

I've actually never used Kerastase on my hair or any clients, but from what I've heard others say about it, it is a great hair product! I do agree with you about Redken. I used Redken for a few years and never had a problem with it. But then I think my hair got used to it and it just never felt great. I think it is a good starter shampoo for those who are used to paying $3-$4 to go to $8-$12 for a shampoo. Yes, SLS will almost always be in any shampoo unless it specifically says it doesn't (like Wen), but the amount of it will always vary. In salon shampoos, there will be more of the "good" ingredients to sort of counter act the SLS. You can tell when you use something like Pantene compared to Kerastase or Redken. Your hair just doesn't lather as much with the more expensive shampoos. That tells you there is less SLS.

  9. I love this look! This might be the cutest jean jacket I have ever seen! I simply love how well tailored it is and that it is acid wash. Just lovely!
