latest wardrobe and beauty additions

Sportsgirl fur hat
free size
$10

Back with another post featuring my latest goodies!! Most of these pictures have been taken back at my old house as I've moved back there temporarily so I can take care of my sisters.

First off is this super fluffy and warm Russian-style fur hat, which I nabbed instantly from Sportsgirl once I saw it on the lovely Priscilla from Candy Pop L'Amour. I'm convinced I need fluffy hats like this in every colour and this deep aubergine shade is a wonderful way to kickstart my latest winter addiction. BTW- a total steal at only $10.

click on the link below for more:

Close-up of the hat. It fits over my head perfectly!

Sportsgirl sparkly knit
size S
$80->$32

In the above photos and some below I'm also wearing this amazing Sportsgirl knit I got during Vogue's Fashion Night Out, in which Sportsgirl participated with 20% off all items. Months ago I have been lusting so hard over this sparkly knit but I always thought $80 (original price) was a bit steep. Sportsgirl is seriously one of those stores where I just walk in and I always without fail, want to steal at least half of the stock. It was so hard to put this knit down but thank goodness I had the patience to wait it out for a bit longer (months, even) and it then became on sale for $40, and with the Vogue discount it was reduced down to $32.

Besides getting free shipping, I was also pleasantly surprised to find that my first online Sportsgirl order also came with this free shopping tote bag, paw paw lip balm, eyeliner, nail file, beauty bag AND 3D glasses! LOL if you pop over to their website here, their main page is viewable in 3D mode. Just one of those little and pretty trivial perks that get me so excited.

And nooo, I haven't been sponsored by Sportsgirl at all for this post considering how much I've gushed about it, but the truth is if you see me in real life walking in one of their stores, I am always just rendered weak at the knees lusting over practically everything, standing there with stars in my eyes.

Geek glasses from Ebay- item link here
$1.25

(This is probably the first time I have smiled properly with teeth visible on my blog, it's amazing.)

I know I'm extremely late to this geeky specs trend, I've just never seen the point of wearing glasses when you don't need them. (Since when was it cool to pretend you have bad eyesight?) But paying only a little over a dollar for a fashion accessory is enough to shut me up, and I'll probably have loads of fun incorporating this into some "geeky chic"-style outfits which will hopefully not turn out to be merely "geeky".

Novo heels
$80->25
size 6

This was just a total impulse buy. Upon heading over to watch Snow White and the Huntsman I caught sight of the sale sign at Novo and I knew I had to have a quick scrummage. There was only a size 6 left and another larger size (8 or something?) but from a quick glance at the shoe I immediately knew it was my size. I usually get a size 7 but I'm pretty proud of the way I can just tell my shoe size from one look! Even though the label said size 6 I was pretty sure it fit more like a 7. Quickly grabbed these before heading to the movie!

Still trying to figure out how to pair these shoes with outfits. I'm thinking it would look good with black leggings and rich jewel tones or neutral shades up at the top. Not sure how these shoes will fare in the summer time though.

This is precisely why certain things go on sale, isn't it? They're just difficult to pair with other clothes. I swear every shoe sale section I've come across has colour-blocked wedges. Having two bold shades in your shoes alone makes it harder to style the rest of your outfit.

Custom shredded shorts from Total Recall Vintage

I won these from a giveaway hosted by Claudia from Wld Hrts! These look so cute with sneakers and I love the shredded design!

my Market HQ package:

MinkPink dip-dye blazer

Bam Bam Cherry blossom leggings

sooo excited to wear these gorgeous pieces out!

Also after doing a bit of grocery shopping one night I spotted the beauty section at a pharmacy, selling Miki, Ulta, Napoleon and other beauty brands I had never seen in the pharmacy before. After having a quick browse (I rarely buy Western makeup brands, they don't really suit my skintone?) I spotted to my surprise, a little Missha area! Missha is a Korean brand and this was a Western pharmacy, so I was really pleasantly surprised. The selection was pretty limited (just a bit of eyeliner, foundation, lipstick etc) but I went straight to the skincare section.

Missha Super Aqua water supply cream

Laniege water bank gel cream from Sasa.com

The Laneige one is actually my usual cream. It's more watery whereas the Missha one is more creamy. I think the Missha one is more moisturising and suited for winter, and the Laniege feels more refreshing on the skin (plus smells beautiful!) I'll probably save the Laneige for the warmer seasons.

Also picked up a few things from Priceline's sale section-

Australis Duos highlighter and bronzer in Sunkissed Glimmer ($3 I think?), Australis lip and cheek tint in Renaissance Red (also $3?)

The brush that came with this is pathetic, the bristles are quite hard and come off quite easily. Basically really flimsy and cheap-looking. As for the product itself- the bronzer is much too glittery, unpigmented, and orange-y rather than brown for my liking. The illuminator is also not very pigmented and quite chalky. I wouldn't recommend this!

The lip tint although called "Renaisssance Red" is not a true red at all. It's more like a deep, cool pink.

I would probably recommend this one- the lip tint was one of those click-y pens that distributes the product with each click, and makes the application quite user-friendly. It's really easy to control how much you want with each click, or brushing the residue of the brush over your lips to put on just a little bit of the product. It's also pretty long-lasting even after eating and forgetting I still had lip product on.

  6. I saw that hat off Pris's blog too :D then I tried it in stores and felt like I should be shooting vodka with it on, hahaha. It's the most gorgeous rich purple *_* I've been looking for a muted-sparkly-knit and that's a steal D: I agree, I walk into Sportsgirl feeling at my most Asian by slunking away at the new stock ;_; Oh wow, you got freebies! A 3D website, what digital innovations have we come to haha, that's so awesome. How you managed to snag geek glasses for $1.25, *claps rewardingly*. Novo is having a huge sale! Those heels are a steal, didju see their sale on boots?! You could contrast the pop of purple with something green or yellow! I like bold colours haha. Congrats on snagging a giveaway win! That minkpink blazer is so pretty! It doesn't look stiff like most blazers? And the gradient is a bonus. I've been looking to stock up on my leggings and to your cherry blossom ones are loveee, thanks for that :) The lip tint is almost like a popsicle pink!

  22. You have such good taste!! I love everything you bought, especially the dip-dye blazer, the shredded shorts and those shoes. I am so jealous of your ability to judge if a pair of shoes is your size by sight. I wish I could do that... I love that tint colour on you, it's gorgeous!

I didn't bother notifying the seller because those balms appeared to be sealed and I broke the seal, so it will be too difficult for me to prove that they were used when I got them >-< I tossed the opened ones out after the review. I guess that is a risk of getting products online.

  30. I just totally noticed you have a cute freckle on your nose!! I've always loved freckles on faces and I never got any because my skin is too dark, but I have a few and I cherish them. Yes, I know. I'm totally weird. Anyway, I love those geek glasses! I've been wanting to get a pair too, but I don't know if I could pull it off. It's funny, back in high school, I used to wear fake glasses all the time, but I know people knew they were fake. So I always felt weird in them. I think that's why I feel I couldn't pull them off now. But we'll see. :)

Love that dip dye blazer. The color is so pretty. And I love that gel cream. I use a gel cucumber cream I found from Garnier. Usually I really dislike Garnier products, but their refreshing gel cream is seriously the best thing I've ever used on my skin before. I love it. Great haul! <3

  41. Love your haul! Your hat reminds me of a story my friend was telling me, where apparently in Poland people sell those hats everywhere, including ones with the communist sickle symbol on them, she wanted one really badly, but didn't feel like it was appropriate to wear in Australia haha! Also my friend and I used to wear those geek glasses in high school (even though she had actual glasses) because we saw the international students wearing them. :/ Haha! z_z; I'm going to stop telling you stories now.
