Floral cardigan: c/o Stephieshop (this one is sold out)
Dress: markets
Wedges: taobao.com
Sequin clutch: taobao.com
Does anyone else have a large number of really lightweight, thin jackets and cardigans dominating their wardrobe? To many, such garments seem impractical and redundant for providing minimal warmth and beg the question: "why not just wear a shirt?" I'm actually a huge fan of these sheer, chiffon cardigans because you get to add an extra layer of 'interestingness' (for lack of a better word!) to your outfit whilst still keeping cool in the summer time. This one from Stephieshop has just the prettiest floral design on it, and without it this plain red dress would've looked quite dull and unexciting by itself.
You may have noticed that I look unusually pale in some of these photos! The sun that day was blindingly hot and bright, and the light ended up being super harsh. Combined with the oriental background and prevalence of red in my outfit, the phrase "china doll" leapt to mind.

Gorgeous as usual! The colors pop and the touch of metallic is just so special! I do love all of your looks, so girly, romantic, and just simply awesome!

You are so stunning Izzy!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit so much because of the red :)
Really want your wedges!!
But nothing ever looks dull and uninteresting on you Izzy! I know what you mean though, sheer cardigans are the best- there's no garment quite like it x
ReplyDeletethis is wonderful, Izzy! very colorful & the location is so nice as well!! <3

I have plenty of impractical pieces that I just adore so I totally understand. This is also making me die to have a red dress (which I strangely lack in my closet) because it looks fantastic on you.

So beautiful and you have such a sense in fashion! <3
ReplyDeleteEven if your skin was washed out by the son, I still think you have gorgeous skin. It looks so creamy and pretty. :) I never used to have cardigans, but this season I've totally stocked up on them. We'll see if I actually wear all of them. I find it hard to get inventive with cardigans. You look amazing girl! <3

Again, Izzy, you could pull of everything, but wearing red is always a bigger in my books. I love how you managed to play pairs with the dress and heels, you look gorgeous! And the cardigan is a nice addition that eases the bold palette with such lovely florals! Hm that's what I actually lack, lightweight coats because all mine are quite heavy-duty for the winter and not weather friendly for Summer. I absolutely love sheer, I think its transitional across all the seasons, I'm glad you composed this outfit so flatteringly! You looked like a chinadoll, the perfect porcelain gem :3
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the bightness of the sun/lighting works,it makes the red really stand out in contrast to the brightness of the sun.Makes your skin look beautiful, very china doll like :) The scenery in these photos are beautiful, the buildings are stunning, lots of colour and details.
ReplyDeleteI love how your photos are so sunny, and warm, when its getting ever colder here in the UK,brightens up my day :D
I'm guilty for having a lot of cover ups/cardigans in my closet, its great to layer up,to create a look without getting too hot, especially in the summer.
I hope your well and have a lovely weekend x
I love this outfit, the red dress is wonderful, and the items go well together, especially the jacket :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I have so many lightweight cardigans in my closet haha, I don't even know how to wear most of them x)
xx

guilty as charged. It's Fall here now, and I wish I didn't have so many lightweight cardigans sometimes because it's so freaking cold, and I don't want to layer everything in my outfits. hahaha. You are gorgeous, Izzy! I love this outfit, and I seriously am crushing on that cardigan! Have a lovely weekend!

ReplyDeleteps. soap or brush clean is definitely a better alternative to clean your brushes because makeup remover will always leave residue and worst if the makeup remover is oil based, it will leave oil on your brushes. Hope this helps :)

I love the color red :D It's like a power color~ You look beautiful! I actually don't have a lot of sheer jackets in my wardrobe since I find that they're too impractical to wear in New York City since it's usually too cold in the fall months to wear something like that yet too hot to wear in the summer lol. I do like the idea of wearing it over a dress to cover up a bit like how you worn it here! :) I'll have to try that.
ReplyDeleteJoyce @ carouselstreet.com
I love your floral cardigan! And I agree with you that a large number of light jackets and cardigans are a must! They are perfect for creating beautiful layered looks without adding any extra bulk and weigh.

The red shoes are so striking, especially as they're the same colour as your dress. The floral jacket really does give an extra dimension of interest to your outfit - especially since the dress is a block colour. It all looks gorgeous against the harmonious backdrop :)

the jacket is beautiful on you.. and you have nailed it when it comes to wearing red, or even a red dress!
ReplyDeleteMy god the weather there must be amazing. Everything is so colourful and.. nice.. ;tear; can you tell I'm missing summer? I'm a bit weird though because as much as I love spring-fall, or basically everything besides winter, I've had this really odd.. fondness of snow, NOT slush, but just snow lately. The colours are never as pretty though!
ReplyDeleteI do actually have a number of lightweight blazer/jackets and I try to get interesting designs for this very reason! It really turns an outfit around.
Oh, and really liking your makeup here!
