This is my second time featuring a peplum skirt on my blog! (See the first one here) What I love about it is that there's something about peplum that always adds the perfect touch of sophistication, class and femininity. I can't pinpoint it exactly, but it can send what would otherwise be a regular, sexy bodycon dress or skirt into a completely different field of champagne, hors d'oeuvres and bowties by simply adding a flirty flare on the hips.
Admittedly I had my reservations about the quality of the skirt due to the modest price tag, but upon seeing it in real life and trying it on I found myself pleasantly surprised! The material is thick so you don't have to worry about visible undergarment lines, and is stretchy so it hugs the hips and butt in a flattering way. The peplum flare extends all the way to the back, which in my opinion is extremely flattering for the backside by creating the illusion of curves.
The beautiful lace detail on the top makes this such a delicate and versatile piece. I paired it with a peplum skirt for a classy, going out outfit but it could easily be tucked into a flowy maxi skirt for a feminine, ethereal look. Stephieshop also generously sent me a nude-coloured inner top to prevent the top being see-through, which I wore inside.

You disguised the top and skirt so well, it looks like the perfect dress! But that silhouette, gahhhhhhh, absolutely gorgeous. I didn't think that gold belt would have ever passed my mind if I were wearing that outfit but that pop of metallic is really demure. I think peplums are just so feminine and appropriately styled, can work on everyone. I'm glad to hear the skirt is thick and sturdy, I'm always conscious of wearing skirts that are flimsy in fabric but yours seem to accenuate and hug your curves so well too! I also love how you matched your lace top with your wallet, and the hints of gold throughout, especially in those ankle strap heels - perfection!

Hey Izzy love! I absolutely adore this look on you. You know I'm a fan of all things peplum. Although I've made myself numerous peplum tops, I have yet to make myself a skirt. I like the clean and simple look of this peplum skirt. and it's great that it's made out of a knit, for added ease & comfort. I'm also lovin' that blouse. I love the lace yoke. wow I never understood how to wear peplum skirts. They always looked a little strange when I saw them in the stores, but now that I see how you coordinated it I think I need to give it a try! You're so right about how it hugs the right places and adds curves while also adding a beautiful flow around your waist. I also love the colors you chose to put this outfit together!
