Choies always has such an amazing range of eclectic, one-of-a-kind pieces like this beautiful skirt. The print on the square panel reminds me of an oil painting encased in a white frame. Love how the mix of vibrant colours running over each other contrasts with the linear structure of the skirt! My abalone Sunburst cocktail ring by House of Harlow has a similar multi-coloured swirly effect in the inlay of the ring, so I paired the skirt with it.
I'm using this chic box-like clutch from Choies so often as well! I love how simple and structured it is, and the gold finish on the sides make the clutch resemble a precious book. It's just so classy and elegant in my opinion, and since it's black it's ultra versatile too!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful New Year's Eve and Day. Did you guys make any New Year's resolutions? I think my goal last year was to be more confident, and I have to admit that doing my blog contributed like 80% towards lifting my self-esteem, no joke. It sounds so silly but I couldn't believe that for every post people would actually be writing some positive comments, liking my style, and even when I delved into so many social platforms this year I was like 'wow, people actually want to follow/fan/subscribe to me!' LOL. Truthfully without my blog I would not have been able to let go of previous problems and I wouldn't have been able to mature so much. Now that I'm able to see a brighter future for myself, my next goal for 2013 is to be more passionate about this brighter future. I'm going to put more fire into everything and I'm going to get motivated...all the time!
Anyway that's my little story. What are YOUR goals for 2013? :)

ReplyDeleteI agree with you totally about the self esteem thing, I was really surprised by how much my blog has helped to make me less shy, more confident over the past year too.
My resolution this year is to say 'yes' more! I turn down way too many opportunities because they scare me, or I think I won't be able to do them, or I'll be rubbish at something. This year I'm going to just say 'yes' & throw myself in at the deep end, whats the worst that could happen?! :)

Argh the time I've been away from Blogger and you've blogged so much T_T I'm absolutely certain you could pull off a garbage bag or something, so gorgeous ;___; I really love the colour of that skirt, and how incredibly verstaile you've mixed in the prints with your jewellery, and the yellow top is the perfect accompaniment! The pattern reminds me of those lead pencils that used to have a marble-print on the outside, such nostalgia haha, it does look like an oil painting! I think your choice of clutch is quite timeless and chic and not overdone, goes well with your shoes! I don't think I ever stick to NY's resolutions as effectively as I'd like to, but I'm really glad to hear your confidence has boosted up, look at chu gurl, nothing to be shy about! I think one of my main goals for '13 would be hanging out with several friends much more before most of them leave for exchange, time is never on our side. Great post as always Izzy!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad your blog gave you the self confidence you needed! You are exceptionally pretty and your fashion and style choices are inspirational. You deserve the love girl! :) I haven't really made any resolutions this year, but I think one that I want to assert more is to not let people make me feel guilty for things. I don't want to be treated like a child anymore for my choices and actions and I want to be able to say "no" to people and things that I don't want to do and to not feel guilty for it. Let's hope I stick to it!
