Casual Sequins

Madison Square Secret Lovers Knit Top in Pink: c/o St. Frock (link here)
Sequin geometric skirt: c/o Lookbookstore
Druzy necklace: Tree of Life
Boots: Nine West

Sequins have always been one of those things that people find hard to dress down, or pull out during the daytime. This long-sleeved knit top by Madison Square found at St. Frock, could be just that practical item that's casual enough for the day with a spot of sparkly sequin goodness. It's in one of my favourite colours (pastel pink of course) and the explosion of sequin at the elbows transform a plain top into something fun and unique!

Embracing the combination of sequin and casual, I also paired one of my favourite glittery skirts- this geometric shape sequin skirt from Lookbookstore with some chunky taupe-coloured boots from Nine West. And there you have it! Toning down sequins for a look that's glitzy yet comfy.

I've been sick this week (there's definitely a virus going around lately!), and as I don't fall ill very often, I always forget how annoying it is to not have the energy to get out of bed or attempt to have a productive day. I thought I would do some housework but towards the end of it I got a mad headache and just lay down next to my vacuum doing nothing but play games on my phone lol. The other annoying thing is that with the medicine I'm taking, it makes me feel so famished all the time! As I didn't have the energy to go grocery shopping I ordered a pizza and actually scoffed the entire thing down myself! I feel like the laziest and grossest slob when I'm sick haha.

And thanks for everyone that participated in my $600 Giveaway with, which ended recently! have already drawn the 3 winners randomly via Rafflecopter, and here they are:

New day, new blog post! (So on a roll here) I'm so excited to show these pics that I took all by myself! One fine Sunday morning I just sucked it up, trekked to a park, set up my tripod and trusty remote control and snapped some pics. I'm not currently in the most stable relationship right now so I need to teach myself be more independent in several ways, including updating content for my blog by being both the photographer and the model.

I'm pretty happy with the results as it's such a welcome change from my house balcony shots with a more interesting, lush background and with the open space I have greater opportunity to capture pretty bokeh and light. I get to tap further into the capabilities of my SLR, play with Photoshop, and most importantly, do stuff all by myself that I can be proud of! :)

I featured a few items from YesStyle in the previous blog post here, and today I'm featuring another cute item by them! This black and white striped top has such a striking but simple design, and looks fab over skinny jeans or denim cutoffs for a laidback but trendy look. I'm not always into cut-outs (they need to be tastefully added) but the ones at the shoulders here are perfect and appropriately positioned. The top isn't even $30- YesStyle stuff is so good in being affordable :)

YesStyle's back to school special is still on- get an extra 10% off your purchase + free shipping (without a min. purchase requirement with the coupon code BTSAUG14 :) Ends on 31 August.

Anndd the $600 Giveaway with Lookbookstore is almost ending! Enter here for the chance to win 1 $300 gift card / 1 $200 gift card / 1 $100 gift card (there will be 3 winners!)

Back to School

Yellow cardigan: Valleygirl
Distressed jeans: c/o YesStyle (link here)
Checked top: c/o YesStyle (link here)
Floral backpack: c/o Lookbookstore (currently out of stock)
White flatforms: eBay

So it's back to school time for a lot of you guys! This means comfy sweaters and tees, jeans, and most definitely backpacks to save your arms from all the heavy books/electronic devices you'll be carrying!

YesStyle are currently offering a back to school promo so I decided to take a few pieces from YesStyle and put together something I'd wear to class. First is this checked tee in navy and white from the Korean brand Click! The great thing about YesStyle is that it includes so many various Asian brands from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. The material of this top was surprisingly soft, thick and comfy...with the cute grid pattern it's definitely something that you could wear with both jeans and skirts for an everyday school look.

I also got these ripped jeans from YesStyle from the Korean brand Midnight Coco which are unfortunately sold out at the moment in size small! I think some schools are a bit strict with the 'distressed' or grungy look of some outfits, so make sure you're allowed to have holes in your clothes before wearing them to class haha. I've been loving the look of ripped jeans lately and these ones were really comfy and fit perfectly :)

Not forgetting the importance of being practical...this cute floral backpack can fit all your essentials like phone, wallet and keys as well as a few notebooks and iPad. This is currently sold out on but they still have a number of other cute backpacks here.

YesStyle are currently offering a back to school special! You get an extra 10% off your purchase + free shipping (without a minimum purchase requirement)! Just use the coupon code BTSAUG14 to take advantage of the offer before 31st August.

And I'm shocked to have received a whopping 1500+ entries on my Giveaway contest so far, since it went up 5 days ago! If you haven't entered, make sure you do here Three gift cards to Lookbookstore are up for grabs, worth $600 in total :)

Wow it's strange looking at these photos we took on the weekend when it's absolutely pouring buckets outside right now! Luckily we found a rare sunny day and I was actually able to wear a crop top and short shorts. It's like we're in a completely different season now, in the span of a few weeks!

I have so many kimonos already (love their flowy shape!) but not like this one with the adorable daisy trim from Lookbookstore. It's so pretty and unique and happened to complement the crochet trim on these shorts from Awwdore. Pair them with a cute crop top (bustier also from Lookbookstore) and chunky platform boots and you have a festival look perfect for summer!

Hope you guys liked this outfit and all the pieces I'm wearing, because...I'm hosting a Giveaway with, with three winners! :)

Pink and White

pink romper: c/o Vintage Hordes (link here)
White blazer: Nasty Gal
Shoes: Lipstik

Adding yet again another romper to my collection! This one's a bright, fun hot pink that will make you stand out everywhere you go :) I love the cute pom pom trim, it's such a subtle detail that gives the romper an extra fun edge. Check out Vintage Hordes for more on-trend pieces like this- they do free international shipping too!

I hope everyone's been having a great week. Currently I've been eating wayyy too much random food from stress, ranging from lamb doused in miso sauce to free cotton candy to lime and coconut cocktails (which are yum!) to ginger cookies (which I do not recommend if you can't even stand the slightest hint of ginger, like me!) Summer is rolling around for us Aussies so I need to get my act together haha!

White Romance

"Swinging lace" playsuit: c/o Pop Cherry Fashion (sold out in white, orange still avail. here)
Floral crown: Sportsgirl
Necklace: Brandy Melville
Shoes: Lipstik

Just found the perfect white lace playsuit! This one from Pop Cherry Fashion is ultra romantic, flirty and even has a touch of boho with the bell sleeves. If there wasn't so much traditionalism and expectation around weddings, I would seriously consider wearing something like this to mine. Boho mixed with feminine is definitely my style, and I'm definitely more comfortable with short lengths over super formal floor-skimming lengths haha! It probably sounds ludicrous, but my wedding would never be traditional anyway. Unfortunately the dress is currently sold out in white from Pop Cherry Fashion but still available in orange, for a vibrant pop of colour!

Sorry for the delay in getting this blog post up! Life has just been too busy lately and unfortunately so many things pile up and blogging gets pushed further down in the priority list. If only there were more hours in the day! I tend to beat myself up over not being able to accomplish enough, but I keep forgetting that creating a time slot for rest and relaxation is also extremely important, and in some cases needs to actually be one of the top priorities. At the end of the day you need a balance between work and play, and you shouldn't feel guilty for indulging in the latter every now and then. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Dangerous Liason

Dangerous Liason playsuit: c/o St. Frock (link here)
Shoes: Novo
Box clutch: Choies
Chunky chain Necklace: c/o Vant Jag (link here)

Ok I am definitely a huge fan of lace...whether it's in playsuits, tops, dresses, skirts, there's no doubt that lace has this inimitable sense of mysterious sexiness combined with elegance. And an all-over lace back design is even more alluring! The lace detail on this playsuit from St. Frock actually reminds me a little of cobwebs and together with the ruffle hem sort of gives a gothic vibe in my opinion haha!

I also came home to a lovely little gift from Vant Jag which included this lovely chunky chain necklace with a rich purple pendant! Black and purple seems to be one of my go-to options these days (going through a vampy phase I suppose?) Thanks Kat! I'm forever grateful for having such lovely and sweet sponsors. I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!

Fan Fair

'Fan Fair' bustier: c/o Cooper St (currently sold out, link here)
Leopard print skirt: Forever 21
Clutch: Forever New
Classic sheffield lady watch c/o Daniel Wellington (link here)
Suede Heels by Chinese Laundry: c/o Daily Look (link here)

I love a classic black-and-white combo with a healthy dose of colour! I've personally never seen black-and-white as being boring in fashion, especially when you can play around with eye-catching prints, patterns and cuts. Cooper St kindly gifted me this really cool monochrome 'Fan Fair' bustier with unique origami folds and a peplum design! I paired it with a leopard print skirt for some contrast. I added a pop of colour in lippie (wearing 'Rebel' by MAC), nails and bag :)

I was so excited to receive another gorgeous watch from Daniel Wellington! This time I got the 'Classic sheffield' watch with a black band and rose gold face. I've been wearing it everyday as it goes with everything! I never realised how sorely I was missing a staple accessory in my work and weekend outfits...didn't realise how empty my wrists looked without it haha. You guys can get a special discount with "izzisummer" for 15% off anything at until Sep 15th! :)
