Ale Irregular peplum Top: C/o Red Poppiez (here)
Cardigan: Forever 21
Hat: Nasty Gal
Boots: Boohoo
photos by myself

I haven't blogged in a while! This week hasn't been a very good one for myself for many reasons. Sometimes bad things and bad feelings all come rushing in at the same time! I know it's a rut I need to be stuck in for a while, but I'll get over it and bounce back soon enough. Tonight also happens to be Vogue Online Shopping Night, and I've got my savings card conveniently sitting next to me. A bad mood and shopping sales only a click away are a lethal combination indeed.

I think this photoshoot was during the week I had terrible hayfever, I could barely keep my eyes open lol! This is another beautiful piece I was gifted by Red Poppiez, a Singapore-based online boutique selling beautiful trendy and affordable clothes! The floral print is so intricate and pretty up close, and it's definitely going to be a corporate as well as a weekend wear staple. Check out their Facebook and Instagram as well!

Garden Envy

'Portrait' Skirt from the High Exposure collection: c/o Elliatt (here)
Crop top: Dolly Girl Fashion
Shoes: Go Jane
Clutch: Equip
I love beautiful gardens, and even though the garden I usually take photos in is pretty close to my apartment, I wish I had one like this right infront of my house like these lucky residents!

I took out this beautiful 'Portrait' skirt by Elliatt from their 'High exposure' collection for this shoot. It's such a versatile piece as you can team it with a crop top for going out, or a flowy silk blouse for work. I wore it on Friday and received so many compliments on it! The cute scallop trim and white detailing makes it a perfect piece for spring/summer, and it's in my favourite colour, ie mint green hehe.

I haven't been able to stop wearing this crop top I got in a Dolly Girl Fashion haul a while back- it's just so flattering! I had to get it in both a white and black colour. The high neckline does wonders for my rounded, untoned shoulders and the curved cut out focuses attention on the upper abs rather than the lower abs...which is often so much more undefined lol!

Please check out Evoque Photography for more pretty pics- yes we have parted ways but we are still good friends and he is still a wonderful photographer :) If you are Sydney-based and are looking for a wedding or fashion photographer, do hit him up!

Rock and Leather

'Cosmo' blazer in 'bedrock' by Runaway: c/o St. Frock (here)
PU shorts: c/o Fashion Bloggerrr (here)
Round Sunglasses: c/o Zero UV (here)
Snakeskin clutch: Equip
Shoes: Missguided

I feel like I haven't worn an edgy outfit in a while! It's always girly, girly and girly...but I was in a 'daring' mood when I picked this piece from St. Frock's newest selections, and when I put it on I realised why I had to deviate from my usual style and get it! The bold monochrome rock print just has that rockstar feel to it, but in a tailored and sophisticated way. Oh and of course the power shoulders!

It's hard not to instantly love the blazer as soon as you wear it. My mum actually put it on and I commented on how good it looked on her...and she looked in the mirror and was like "Wow I do look good!" Haha which is really saying something because we are miiilees away in fashion preferences.

This my first time in a pair of leather shorts! They just have this effortless laidback and cool vibe to them, and so versatile too. You can pair them with any kind of top and wear it high-waisted or low on the hips. They're from Fashion Bloggerrr who ship worldwide! :)

Arghhh bikini season has sprung onto me so suddenly and so unwelcomingly! I've been eating my feelings this past week (hello chocolate croissant and Guylian box?) which needs to change. I'm actually happy when it rains and gets really cold because it means I can push back bikini time for a bit longer. I downloaded Kayla Itsines' Bikini body guide and I'm into about Week 2 now so I'm yet to see results. This girl is the biggest inspiration to me with the success she's created over Instagram for her ebooks (she has 1.5 million followers!!) People like her really inspire me to work hard to be better at what I do! I could start with putting down this Cadbury block of chocolate though :D

Bringing Back Neon

Neon pink top: c/o Shop Fashion Avenue (here)
Tropical punch shorts: c/o Shop Fashion Avenue (here)
Cat bag: c/o Banggood
Elephant necklace: Forever 21
White platform heels: Lipstik
Sunglasses: Sabo Skirt

Yay after being so busy lately I finally got the chance to take photos this morning! Although it's been so hot lately in Sydney there have been a lot of cloudy and rainy mornings, and this ultra bright and colourful outfit from Shop Fashion Avenue definitely required lots of warm sunshine in my pics!

Wearing this pink piece of fluorescent goodness was refreshing- I don't think I've worn neon for almost a year! Pink may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's definitely my happy colour (I've pink everything from my bedsheets to my yoga mat to my tupperware!) and wearing a burst of bright pink is a mood-booster like none other. Also I could not turn away from these pretty pastel shorts with cute tropical fruit prints...they're definitely going in my spring wardrobe.

As some of you are aware from my post on Instagram, I've just come out of an almost 5 yr relationship! It's quite devastating and hard to not be sad about it, but I strongly believe that everything does happen for a reason. We still remain good friends which is a big plus. Thanks to everyone who wished me well, I appreciate all the sincere comments! <3

Blue Tropics

'Camille tropical romper': c/o Red Poppiez (here)
Blue blazer: Supre
Heels: Lipstik
XO Necklace: c/o Rings and Tings (here)
Clutch: Forever New

Warm weather means romper/playsuit time! This one from Red Poppiez has such a perfect fun palm print for summer, with cool refreshing blue tones. It's got these side pockets too which I definitely didn't expect on a romper...but because of the relaxed fit around the hips they look seamless and super practical :) (keys and phone so you can get away with the smallest of clutches or even none at all lol!)

This is actually a strapless romper but because it gets a bit cool and windy when the sun goes down (and also because I try to avoid showing my arms haha!) I popped on this steel blue blazer from Supre. Make sure you check out Red Poppiez for more trendy pieces that are really affordable- this romper is only $30! They are a Singaporean -based boutique and ship to Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia, and Australia. Check them out on Facebook and Instagram :)

Bend the Rules with HP Australia

(This post is brought to you by Nuffnang and HP Australia)

Have you ever felt like there were rules in fashion that could be broken every now and then? I've paired up with HP Australia who have a really cool competition at the moment - where you can submit text, images, and/or videos via social media using #BendTheRulesAustralia, showing how you bend the rules! The comp has weekly spot prizes plus a grand prize up for grabs of $10,000, which is massively generous in my opinion :)

You can check out some of the entries already up on HP Australia Youtube. Terms and conditions of the comp can be found here (also avail. on the YouTube page).

Here are a few examples from myself of how I would bend the rules in fashion:

1. Rocking out-of-fashion trends

Galaxy skirt: c/o WMYU (here)
Engraved messages ring set: c/o Style Moi (here, currently sold out)
3 ring pack: c/o Style Moi (here)
Glitz collar Necklace: c/o Vant Jag (here)

Sometimes a trend comes along that you really, really like... and you amass a dozen pieces with it and in a couple of month's time, it fades completely! That's how I felt with the galaxy trend (you have to admit, everyone was obsessed with it at some point!) My stance is that you can always bend the rules when it comes to the fast-paced nature of fashion- if something looks good and you can rock it, then flaunt it regardless of whether it’s in season or not!

Another fashion rule is to never mix metals- but how awesome is this ring set? I think they look even better with a mixed blend of copper, bronze and silver. Combining metals can look messy at times but if you keep it minimal it won't look tacky and actually look pretty cool!

2. Wearing summer in winter

Floral dress: c/o Ami Club Wear (here, currently sold out)
Yellow knit: Chicabooti
Satchel bag: Forever New

During cool weather don't feel the need to tuck away all your summer gear just yet! You can definitely bend the rules with wearing season-specific clothing. Summer dresses look really cute with a cropped jacket and stockings/tights, and crop tops can be a great layering piece with high-waisted bottoms. Here I'm wearing a chunky cardigan over a summery floral dress with boots, and you can add stockings/leggings to keep warm.

3. Wearing active wear outside
Leather cap: ASOS
Striped long sleeve top: Lululemon
Zip up jacket: Lululemon
This is a really cool trend I've been embracing lately! A few years back I would never have thought of wearing sports gear from the gym or yoga class, to coffee or dinner. Thanks to the growing fusion of fashion and sportswear in recent times there's so many cute sports clothes on the market that look great outside as well.

I walked into Lululemon for the first time the other day and picked up these great basics. A tight-fitted long sleeved striped top and fitted black zip-up jacket are not only wardrobe staples, but I wore them hiking as well on the weekend! I easily transitioned from a day of exercise to dinner at a steakhouse that night, bending the rules that gymwear should stay in the gym.
