Red Lace Romper

'High Street romper': c/o (here)
Adele lace up booties: c/o Shop Calico

Valentine's Day may be over but I'm still in a romantic mood! This lacy romper would be a perfect choice for a romantic date out, no matter the time of year. It's understatedly sexy with the lace at the front, cut outs at the waist and lace back. It also comes in black as well from!

I'm so excited about a trip to New Zealand for which I've just finalised accommodation and flights for! We're staying at a penthouse and the photos of the place look absolutely amazing. New Zealand just seems so different to what I'm used to seeing in Sydney, with all the snow-capped mountain ranges and rivers. I'm so excited and it will be my first time seeing snow as well! :)

The Lolita Set

Lolita two piece set in black: c/o Beginning Boutique (here)
Bayside Cardigan: c/o Madison Square Clothing (available here)
Fringe bag: c/o Lookbookstore (here)
Necklace: Forever 21
Boots: Nasty Gal

Brace yourselves because over the next few weeks I'll be featuring a looot of two piece sets (or 'coordinates')! They're the latest trend at the moment and they come in all shapes and forms- you can get a crop top with a matching pencil skirt for a sleek sophisticated look, a loose top with a maxi skirt, or a fun beachy crop with flowy shorts like this set from Beginning Boutique.

If you're averse to buying the latest fad this one is worth investing into...because once the style is over you can wear the separates and pair them with other items from your wardrobe! How nifty is that :)

The 'Lolita' two piece set comes with a crop top that has a tie back at the neck and sash back at the bottom. I didn't take a picture from behind but it is backless, and best to wear this bra-less. Summer is actually drawing to a close over here so I paired it with a long crochet cardigan I've featured before from Madison Square Clothing, for a transitional look to autumn/fall :)

The Tunic Dress

Venice beach Tunic dress: c/o T-Bar (here)
Chiffon green cardigan: c/o Lookbookstore (here)
Backpack: YesStyle
Boots: Boohoo
Photography: myself

This was my first time wearing a tunic dress- which is basically a long top that is long enough to be a dress (sounds more fancy than it is!) I've been seeing a lot of tunic dresses out on the streets this summer, probably because they're loose, flattering, and just so damn comfy! This T-Bar tunic is basic enough to look cute under different types of outerwear. Here I wore a lightweight jacket from Lookbookstore in prep for autumn/fall outfits! And the leopard print sleeves gives it an extra bit of edge when worn by itself.

I definitely have a lot of tunic tops that were meant to be dresses but were too short on me lol, but luckily this one from T-Bar fit perfectly and sits at a comfy length above my knees.

My matte black ankle booties from Boohoo seem to look like they're made out of some sort of shiny plasticy material- but it's only because of how wet the grass was! I think I need a pair of Wellingtons as I trek to my photoshoot location to battle the morning dew...

Valentine's Day with Bras N Things

'Simonette' black lace bra: c/o Bras N Things (here)
'Primrose' boy leg panties: c/o Bras N Things (here) (HURRY it's only $5 at the moment ;))

Recently Bras N Things gifted me these gorgeous lacy black pieces, just in time for Valentine's Day! :) I have always been a big shopper at Bras N Things for their high quality and affordable lingerie that actually last a long I was very excited to be working with them! There's nothing more classically sexy than black lace so picking these lovely separates was a no-brainer.

The 'Simonette' bra is elegant, simple and understatedly sexy. I love balconette cups, because they're always so flattering. It's also really comfy and has a bit of push-up, what more could you want? :) Boyleg briefs are also my favourite cut and these panties couldn't be any more it's only $5 in size AU 8 (US Size Small) so it's definitely a major steal right now.

To get into the spirit of things, I also created my first wishlist on Polyvore in celebration of V-day! I had so much more fun with it than I thought I would lol, browsing endless and endless pages of cute and drool-worthy items.

Everything in the World

"Everything in the world" tee: c/o T-Bar (here)
"Hey there sexy" skirt: c/o (here)
"Celestial Iridescence" necklace: c/o Vant Jag (here)
Boots: Verali
Horse purse: c/o Front Row Shop

It's been a while since I've worn a graphic tee in an outfit...and I'm not sure why! Graphic tees are the epitome of effortless cool when worn the right way. I don't own too many as I don't normally do casual wear, but when paired with the right pieces and accessories you can transform your look completely.

Have you ever felt so stubborn and determined to achieve something, that all the obstacles in the world mean nothing to you? I definitely feel that way with some things, as if I will die trying lol. I'm grateful to have that passion in me because I definitely didn't have this headstrong attitude and confidence when I was younger. This tee from T-Bar is simple, minimalistic and powerful to me- and I can definitely pair it with so many colours and pieces.

I'm seeing a huge 90s revival in choker necklaces or at least tattoos, so I decided to give a fresh spin on this killer "Celestial iridescence" necklace by Vant Jag with a much shorter chain so I'm wearing it as a choker. It worked perfectly with the chunky moon and triangle jewels sitting neatly around the neckline.

And nothing says 'Clueless' flashbacks like a plaid miniskirt! Plaid in a blue shade can veer you away from that schoolgirl look and the zips down the front make it extra cool and edgy.

Lace & Whiskey

'Mabel Psychadelic dress' :c/o Lace & Whiskey (here)
Boots: Nine West
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington

How stunning is this print on this dress from Lace & Whiskey? Apparently the designer had a dream about this print and immediately sketched it out when she was eating breakfast. I'm glad she had that dream because the vibrant colours, details and psychadelic shapes make this the perfect statement summer piece you can throw on without having to accessorise much. The dress also has a scalloped hem which, judging from previous posts, is something that sells me all the time.

The 'Mabel Psychadelic dress' is currently on sale as well! Check out Lace & Whiskey for more beautifully and thoughtfully designed pieces. I love the boho-inspired, LA-made feel of all their looks!

I'm still getting mozzie bites when I go out to take photos which is really annoying! I took the photos at 6am and I'm in a half-asleep state trying to pose, click my remote, flail my arms wildly to bat mosquitoes and also not look stupid infront of joggers and bikers passing by. At least the photos don't really reflect all the ungraceful and awkward struggles that led up to them.

Fame and Partners Shoot

Dresses provided by Fame and Partners
Shoes provided by Hype DC

 Dress #1:

So my blog post is finally up featuring the shoot I did last Monday with Fame and Partners! It was pretty exciting doing my first photoshoot with a full makeup, stylist and photographer team. They provided a selection of Fame and Partners dresses and I brought my own (the 'Learn to Fly' dress), and Hype DC also provided some sneakers for me to wear.

The makeup was very different to how I apply mine, with much more minimal work on the eyes and a much bolder lip to what I'm used to. I've never really gotten anyone else to do my makeup for me so it was very interesting to let something take the reins and paint my face. I've also never really had anyone else style clothes for me! It was all a very interesting experience.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't terribly favourable outside, so we played it safe by shooting indoors in a high-rise apartment in the city. I was pretty nervous having all this attention drawn to me especially when I was modelling all the outfits and having the whole team there looking at me! But luckily the photographer (Sylve Colless) and the rest of the team were very friendly and positive. I just pretended I was actually a real model...because I figured if you believe you're an awkward plain Jane you will behave and act like a plain Jane and that will reflect itself in the photos :) Fake it till you make it right?

I was very excited to have worn a number of gorgeous Fame and Partners dresses as well! I guess playing dress-ups fulfils a very basic childish and girly need in me :) My favourite is the dress that was gifted to me (the Learn to Fly) dress with the side cutouts and flare shape, which is definitely both cute and sexy at the same time. I also really liked the silver Kate dress because of the flattering fit and pretty metallic silver sheen! It was definitely a fun experience and I'd love to pretend model again, but also act as the photographer and get someone else to model for me :) Check out Fame and Partners for a wonderful selection of party dresses...kinda makes me wish they were around during my Year 12 formal so I could have worn one of these special dresses!
