Autumn Knits

'Weaver' Knit: c/o Showpo (here)

I definitely feel like my clothing style is maturing as I get older. I would've not normally worn a plain knit jumper with jeans in the past. I feel like as my mind gets wiser, more experienced, more confident and understanding, my style moves in sync as I transition from a naive girl with the lowest self-esteem you could imagine- into a woman finally understanding her self-worth and finally making a good life for herself. It makes me happy :)

This knit is from Showpo and is a perfect transition staple to winter. The thick wool knit material keeps you warm but whilst it's not freezing yet you can expose a bit of shoulder. The bottom of the jumper is actually fitted, so you can wear it with anything underneath without looking bulky or shapeless.

I'm trying to make more use of my parents' house to take outfit photos. Since I use a heavy ass tripod with an equally heavy camera + lens, and I'm still shy about passerbys outside my house, I'm limited in where I can move around to take my pics. However since autumn is here I felt like I needed to take advantage of the orange and red leaves and capture them in the background.

Khaki Season

The hottest colour that appears to be around is khaki, and I can't seem to get enough of it! I did a few sponsored posts for Style Keepers in the past and ever since then they've been on my radar. Recently I've been eyeing all their new khaki-coloured pieces in preparation for autumn, and I just had to buy this skirt for myself along with a few other goodies!

The other thing I'm obsessed with lately is pencil skirts. Pencil skirts as I've discovered recently are the epitome of understated sexy and absolute class. You can get them in knee-length or midi lengths so they don't reveal a lot of skin. But they're figure-hugging and accentuate all your curves even if you have a non-curvy figure like me. This past month has been a bit crazy for me mentally, so I've done a few naughty spending sprees and I'm pretty sure I now have a collection of pencil skirts in every single colour under the sun!

Boho and Berry

'Patrice' coat: c/o St Frock (here)
Paisley print romper: c/o Lookbookstore (here)
Bag: c/o Oasap
Boots: Freelance Shoes

Wow Sydney is experiencing some crazy flooding and storms right now! As a result I actually got let off work early (which makes me secretly excited because I was able to get all this housework done and it's not even dinner time lol...a bit sad I know!)

As it's getting colder and colder I find myself reaching not so much for the blacks and greys...but rather all the berry and wine shades instead! There's something about a deep jewel shade like maroon and purple that's so rich and vibrant and makes the gloomy weather bearable. I'm also buying a lot of emerald greens for my autumn wardrobe and embracing khaki- which I'll feature in my next outfit post!

The 'Patrice' coat is the perfect bright berry coat to make an impact amongst all the blacks and muted shades in this cold weather. At the time I took these photos it was still a little warm so I could get away with wearing only a romper underneath and bare legs with ankle boots. These boots are a recent purchase as well from Freelance Shoes...I reckon shoes that almost match your leg colour deserve a special shoutout for making your legs look way longer than they really are ;)

Staple the Label

I had the pleasure of working with Staple the Label recently! This "Illusion" crop top is from their latest collection, and I was invited to participate in the Staple Style Challenge to put together a transeasonal look featuring one of their items.

It's a bit too cold now for itsy bitsy crop tops, so I pulled over a long flowy cardigan from Lookbookstore. I love how it gives that bit of extra warmth without being heavy and overbearing, whilst we're still being eased into cooler weather. Peach is one of my favourite

Thanks to Staple the Label, The Minimalist, Naked Vice and QT Gold Coast for inviting me to take part in the competition! Also this photoshoot was a great change of scenery from my usual spot for taking photos outside my house- thanks Michelle for taking photos for me!

Transitional Weather

'Valentina Trench coat': c/o St. Frock (here)
Bag: c/o Lookbookstore (here)
Striped dress: c/o Lookbookstore (here)
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington
Boots: Verali

Autumn is well underway and I'm now thinking about how to gradually add more and more layers before winter comes around. One of the best ways to make the transition from hot to cool weather is with a trench coat! Something that's not too heavy and bulky, but is better at keeping you warm nowadays than cropped jackets and kimonos. This trench coat from St. Frock is exactly the timeless and classic piece I needed for my wardrobe. It does come with a belt as well, but since it's not that cold yet I removed it and left the coat open.

Another great transitional piece is this striped dress from Lookbookstore. It looks perfect by itself, and the stripes look just as good peeking out from underneath jackets and outerwear. Lookbookstore also gifted me this black faux leather handbag- how chic is it? It reminds me of the Alexander Wang bags with metal corners (but at a wayyy cheaper price tag!)

Who's ready for autumn? (And yes it's opposite weather over in Australia!)

Another Door Opens

Jelly jam scone playsuit: c/o Stelly Clothing (here)
Fringe bag: Brandy Melville
Cross necklace: Low Luv
Leopard print Shoes: LovelyShoes.net

Wow it's been a while since my last post! Two eventful weekends have already passed by now and I feel like I've learnt a lot about myself. Being single is actually a very valuable learning and development experience I had never appreciated fully. Sometimes it's all those moments where you get thrust into the deep end where you learn and gain the most. As they say, when one door closes another door opens. What may seem like the scariest place on earth is actually the best place for personal development and growth.

This is a belated post of this ridiculously adorable playsuit from Stelly Clothing! I fell in love as soon as I saw it- the pattern is so cute and unique and comes in other colours: red and dark blue. It has a tassel tie at the top and at the waist. The model on the website ties the tassel on the front but you can do it either way. I tied it at the back because of my belt and necklace.

I've worn this playsuit so often in casual outings that I felt like I had already posted this! Here's a more casual look of the playsuit with flats:

Miss Hamptons

'The Frolick' espadrilles: c/o Miss Hamptons (here)
'Brad' Sunglasses: c/o Miss Hamptons (here)
'Showboat' crop top: c/o Tobi (here)
Shorts: Forever 21
Mint backpack: c/o Chicwish

Here's a sunny and tropical look today! I got these mega fun espadrilles from Miss Hamptons recently and what could be more summery than bright pink flamingoes against a beachy backdrop? I rarely feature flats on my blog but these are the perfect laidback, relaxed footwear for a day by the beach or a casual summer outing.

Surprised to say that these are actually my very first pair of espadrilles...these ones are handmade and hail all the way from Spain! Miss Hamptons aim to be not just a brand, but also a way of life. The label claims they were born in The Hamptons, made in Spain, and dreaming of California. :) They stock not only espadrilles (in so many different fun prints!) but also a variety of fun, vibrant shades. You can check out their website here.

I know green and blue generally should never be seen together! But somehow I'm digging this colour combo. I hope everyone has a great Easter long weekend! Have you got anything planned?
