Parisian Fall

'Serena waterfall cardigan': c/o St. Frock (here)

Nothing says Parisian chic more than bright red combined with stripes! Every now and then I feel a bit stumped for outfit ideas but luckily there are some combos that just always work. The French coined the concept of a 5-piece wardrobe of basic essentials that you could mix and match and wear absolutely forever. In my opinion I would add stripes to a culled-down wardrobe (if I ever had to) because you can wear them all season and for all ages.

St. Frock never disappoint with their outerwear selection...I'm finding so many perfect pieces for the cooler weather in Sydney! This waterfall cardigan is such a beautiful shade of red, and comes with a ribbon that you can tie around your waist when it's too cold to wear open.
These ripped jeans from Stelly Clothing are even better that they're high-waisted, because that means I can pair them with not just torso-length tops but also crop tops. PLUS- high-waisted pants + matching colour heels is the ultimate sneaky leg-lengthening trick! ;)

Boho Bonita

'Bonita' playsuit: c/o Coocha Designs (here)
Black lace kimono: c/o Light in the Box (here)
'Cielo' boots: Nasty Gal
Necklace: eBay

I'm having a serious newfound love of neutral shades! Light grey is such an understated colour and it works perfectly on this adorable little playsuit from Coocha Designs. It's perfect for summer with the cute little crochet trim on the sides and lightweight fit, but also fantastic for transeasonal weather with a light cardigan thrown on top. This playsuit actually comes with a belt that you can tie on the side (see how the model did it here). It's currently on sale, so don't miss out :)

I can't get enough of this sexy little black lace kimono either! I think lace has such a beautiful texture and pattern and with a loose, breezy kimono it can add the perfect touch of femininity and elegance. My black one is from Light in the Box here.

I had such a great past couple of days! I was invited to a free hotel stay at a beautiful quirky little hotel called Medusa in Darlinghurst (in exchange for Instagram promo) and had a wonderful day with amazing breakfast, great time at the Museum of Contemporary Art (I love checking out art!!), great company and I watched Mad Max which I loved to pieces!! My jaw was literally open the whole time and I kept on realising it by accident and having to consciously close it. I'm going to hunt down all the old ones as I had never watched them before. And then today I spent most of the day doing a photoshoot and checking out a gardening store which I had a lot of fun in! :)

New Boots

'Apple Martini' Anorak Jacket: c/o Stelly Clothing (here)
Turtleneck knit: Witchery
Skort: c/o Tobi.com
'Iris' boots: Witchery (here)

I'm so excited about these new OTK (over the knee) boots! They're probably my biggest splurge for a very, very long time. The great thing about them is that I feel like they keep my legs warm enough without having to worry about stockings or wearing jeans. That means I can still embrace skorts and skirts- don't need to tuck them away just yet!

Another winter staple is the anorak jacket. This one from Stelly is the perfect dark khaki colour that makes it great for throwing over all your autumn outfits. I'm trying to experiment this winter with playing with neutral colours such as khaki, grey, camel, beige etc...what I've learnt is that despite not having bright bold colours you can let an outfit shine with an interesting texture or print. I love how with cold weather layering I'm able to incorporate ribbed texture (my turtleneck), suede (these boots) and bold grid print (this skort) all in one hit!

Blush Pink

'Sugar rush crop' top: c/o Tweet Tweet Fashion (here)
Animal print skirt: Forever 21
'Chelsea tote' Bag: Kookai (here)
Ankle boots: Freelance Shoes

I'm so obsessed with turtleneck knits at the moment! I love how cosy and warm they always seem to look. This top is the perfect transitional piece, it keeps your neck warm with the high roll-up but you can show off your shoulders while it's still warm enough to do so. If you're looking to inundate your autumn or winter wardrobe with more cosy knits like me, Tweet Tweet Fashion is an Australian boutique that is full of gorgeous knit tops in their New Arrivals.

(You can also get 15% off your order at Tweet Tweet Fashion when you use discount code IZZY15 at checkout :))

This colour is one of my favourites- a light and pretty blush pink! It's one of those colours that is flattering for almost every complexion, especially complemented with pink blush on the cheeks and pink lips. My next look features more woolly turtleneck goodness as it's time to get rugged up!

I went on a massive Kookai shopping rampage spree recently and this bag is one of the purchases I made. I fell in love with the taupe colour (which I'm finding is going with all my outfits perfectly) and the big, structured shape. It seems to be sold out now on the website but may still be available at the physical stores.

I'm loving having the beautiful red and orange autumn leaves in the background now; and I'm trying to take a lot of photos to capture them!

Muted Roses

'Saffron crystal' necklace: c/o Arva (here)
'Violet Roses' dress: c/o Her Fashion Box (here)
Shoes: Lipstik

So excited to be working with Her Fashion Box again! They're an Australian-based fashion subscription box, but they also have a shopping section here :) This dress was perfection the first time I saw it on the site. I can never resist a beautiful digital floral print, and this dress is flattering and figure-hugging in all the right places but still elegant and sophisticated enough for formal functions.

I never knew grey and violet could make such a perfectly pretty match- and I accessorised with a grey faux snakeskin clutch and this gorgeous necklace gifted from Arva. The muted grey and white crystals are so dainty and lovely, and makes for the perfect statement necklace without being tacky and overbearing.

I've been doing a lot of indulgence this past month! People who know me (who know me well that is, and know about all my responsibilities) are telling me I need to give myself a break, that I work too hard, and I don't reward myself enough. And now I finally believe it! So I got a manicure for the first time in my life a few weeks ago, I've been trying lots of expensive treats (money and calories, bah), buying expensive clothes (luxury bags and $400 suede boots anyone?), and I'm even thinking about where to go for my next holiday, which I haven't been on for about 4 years. And a holiday that doesn't involve me just following my mum and holding her bags as she goes shopping (like my last one lol). I have to say it has been really hard to let go of all the restraints that usually confine me, especially money and calories when I have a hefty mortgage and I gain weight so easily lol. But little by little I'm trying to enjoy life a bit more....and it's been great so far! :)

Lovers and Friends

'Fade into you' tank top: c/o Lovers and Friends (here)

Clutch bag: Forever New

I can't believe it's May already! How the time flies. There was a point earlier this year where I was unhappy and felt like time was ticking by way too slowly. I'm so glad I've moved on, found ways to keep myself happy and productive, and now time seems to fly by! :)

I'm wearing a tank top gifted to me from this up-and-coming American boutique Lovers and FriendsThis top is called 'Fade into you' and is from their latest collection 'Daycation' for Spring 2015. It's gotten a little nippy to wear a singlet top by itself nowadays- but the gorgeous vibrant floral print is the perfect pop of colour underneath a trench coat or jacket! :)

I hope everyone is having a great start to the month. I'm about to head off to dinner with charcoal chicken, yumm :)
